若近世之训蒙穉者，日惟督以句读课仿，责其检束而不知导之以礼，求其聪明而不知养之以善，鞭挞绳缚，若待拘囚。彼视学舍如囹狱而不肯入，视师长如寇仇而不欲见，窥避掩覆以遂其嬉游，设诈饰诡以肆其顽鄙，偷薄庸劣，日趋下流。是盖驱之于恶而求其为善也，何可得乎？
