“Harmful influence in the Lung brings skin pain, cold and heat, rising qi, panting and sweat; cough moves shoulders and back. Address the outer chest transporting sites and, beside the five zang at the third back section, press swiftly with the hand. Where relief is felt, needle; address within the collarbone hollow to release it.”
The compressed back-section location is retained without calculating a modern spinal level or point code.
“Harmful influence in the Liver brings pain in both rib-sides, cold within and bad blood retained inside. Movement frequently pulls the joints; the feet sometimes swell. Address Xingjian to draw from below the rib-sides, supplement Sanli to warm the Stomach, address blood vessels to disperse bad blood and blue-green vessels by the ear to remove the pulling.”
“Harmful influence in Spleen and Stomach brings flesh pain. Excess yang with insufficient yin produces internal heat and frequent hunger. Insufficient yang with excess yin produces internal cold, intestinal rumbling and abdominal pain. If both are excessive or both insufficient, there are cold and heat. Regulate all at Sanli.”
“Harmful influence in the Kidney brings bone pain and yin obstruction, which cannot be reached by pressing. There are abdominal distension, lower-back pain, difficult stools, pain in shoulders, back and neck, and occasional dizziness. Address Yongquan and Kunlun, examining for blood-bearing sites and addressing them all.”
“Harmful influence in the Heart brings heart pain, frequent sorrow and occasional dizziness and collapse. Observe excess or insufficiency and regulate at its transporting points.”
