For reversal with pain alongside the spine reaching the crown, a heavy head, strained or blurred eyes and a stiff waist and spine, address Foot Taiyang at the blood networks in the hollow behind the knee. For reversal with chest fullness, a swollen face, slack or trembling lips and sudden difficulty speaking, severe enough to prevent speech, address Foot Yangming. For reversal qi rushing to the throat with inability to speak, cold hands and feet and obstructed stools, address Foot Shaoyin. For reversal with a rumbling abdomen, much cold qi, gurgling within and difficulty passing urine and stool, address Foot Taiyin.
For a dry throat and a mouth hot and sticky like glue, address Foot Shaoyin. For pain within the knee, address Dubi with the round-sharp needle, withdrawing and allowing an interval; the needle is described as large as a yak hair, and the text says to needle the knee without doubt.
For throat obstruction preventing speech, address Foot Yangming; if speech is possible, Hand Yangming. For intermittent fever without thirst attacking every other day, address Foot Yangming; with thirst and daily attacks, Hand Yangming. For toothache without aversion to cold drinks, address Foot Yangming; with such aversion, Hand Yangming. For painless deafness, address Foot Shaoyang; for painful deafness, Hand Yangming.
For unceasing nosebleed with flowing congealed blood, address Foot Taiyang. For congealed blood, address Hand Taiyang. If it does not stop, needle below Wangu; if still unceasing, draw blood in the hollow behind the knee.
For lower-back pain extending upward with cold, address Foot Taiyang and Yangming; with heat, Foot Jueyin. For inability to bend forward or backward, address Foot Shaoyang. For internal heat with panting, address Foot Shaoyin at the blood networks in the hollow behind the knee.
For frequent anger, lack of appetite and increasingly faint speech, needle Foot Taiyin. For anger and much speech, needle Foot Shaoyang. For cheek pain, draw blood from Hand Yangming and the abundant cheek vessels. For nape pain preventing forward and backward bending, needle Foot Taiyang; for inability to turn and look around, Hand Taiyang.
The repeated blood descriptions and the supplied Shaoyin assignment to the knee-hollow networks are retained without harmonizing them with other passages.
For great fullness of the lower abdomen rushing upward to the Stomach and heart, intermittent shivering cold and bodily heat, and difficult urination, address Foot Jueyin. For abdominal fullness with obstructed stools and a large abdomen, also rising into chest and throat with loud panting, address Foot Shaoyin. For abdominal fullness, undigested food, rumbling and inability to pass stool, address Foot Taiyin.
For heart pain pulling into the waist and spine with a desire to vomit, address Foot Shaoyin. For heart pain with abdominal distension, shivering discomfort and obstructed stools, address Foot Taiyin.
For heart pain pulling into the back with inability to breathe, needle Foot Shaoyin; if it does not cease, address Hand Shaoyang. For heart pain drawing into a full lower abdomen, shifting up and down without a fixed place and with difficulty passing urine and stool, needle Foot Jueyin. For heart pain with only short qi insufficient for breathing, needle Hand Taiyin.
For heart pain, needle opposite the ninth section. Press; after needling, press again and it ceases at once. If not, search above and below; finding the site makes it cease at once.
The source’s “ninth section” is retained without adding a modern vertebral level or a point code.
For cheek pain, needle the moving vessel of Foot Yangming around the curve of the cheek to draw blood; it ceases at once. If not, press Renying along the channel, and it ceases at once. For qi counterflowing upward, needle the hollow in the chest and the moving vessel below the chest. For abdominal pain, needle the moving vessels to either side of the navel; press after needling and it ceases at once. If not, needle Qijie and press afterward; it ceases at once.
For wilting reversal, bind the four extremities until there is constriction and oppression, then release them swiftly, twice daily. The text says that numb areas regain feeling in ten days. Continue without interruption and stop when illness ends.
For retching, touch the nose with a grass stalk to produce a sneeze; the sneeze ends it. Another compressed instruction calls for an urgent drawing or stretching action while the breath is held, claiming immediate cessation. A great fright can also stop it.
The last breath-and-drawing clause has no secure anatomical object in the supplied text. Its claim is preserved without inventing an additional maneuver.
