Someone asks how yin and yang pair into husband and wife and form Six Relations. The answer takes Jia's younger sister Yi paired as Geng Metal's wife; Bing's younger sister Ding as Ren Water's wife; Wu pairs Ji with Jia; Geng pairs Xin with Bing; Ren pairs Gui with Wu. One yin and one yang make spouses; spouses precede father and child, father and child precede brothers. Six Relations are parents, siblings, wife, and children. The six Jia marry Ji; Jia/Ji combine and generate Geng/Xin as children. Men take the stem conquering them as child, women what the stem generates as offspring. The source then calls Ji Geng/Xin's mother, Geng father and Yi mother. Thus a yin stem generating me is mother; the yang stem I conquer father; what conquers me Office and child; what I conquer Wealth and wife; like energy siblings. A yin stem generating my wife is the mother-in-law, printed with a Wen-mother term; the yang stem wife conquers father-in-law; what conquers my daughter son-in-law; Food Spirit grandson. Other relations are selected through ten-stem changes. Six-Jia people take Gui as mother, Direct Seal; an interrupted clause mentions Ji Direct Wealth. Wu is father, combining Gui, and is Indirect Wealth; Equal or Robbing injures father. Six-Yi also take Gui as mother, Indirect Seal, and Wu father, Direct Wealth. Jia and Yi both take Geng and Xin as children: Geng male, Seven Killings for Jia and Direct Office for Yi; Xin female, Seven Killings for Yi and Direct Office for Jia. Ji Earth is wife, Wu concubine, because Yi Wood conquers Ji Earth. Though yin meeting yin is said not to pair, yin Wood cannot conquer yang Earth, and woman's proper quality is yin. Thus both Jia and Yi use Ji wife and Wu concubine. For women, Jia seeing Geng Seven Killings and Yi seeing Geng Direct Office both have Husband Star: Geng is yang male and proper husband; yin Xin should not be husband. Yet yang meeting yang often lacks affection, yin meeting yang makes marital harmony. Another view takes Direct Wealth as wife, Indirect Wealth concubine, and female Jia's Xin as proper husband through correct yin/yang pairing. Jia and Yi both take Jia as elder sibling, Yi younger. Ding is paternal grandmother, generating father Wu; Ren paternal grandfather, combining Ding. Ding Fire is also mother-in-law, generating wife Ji, who pairs with Jia; Ren father-in-law through Ding combination. Wife's brothers are brothers-in-law: wife Ji has Wu as elder brother, whose wife Gui is the related aunt. Infer other eight stems similarly. Women's selections differ: what I generate is child, what conquers me husband, what generates husband mother-in-law, what conquers her father-in-law. Parents and siblings follow men's method, distinguishing yin and yang. For Jia/Yi, Bing is son, Ding daughter, Geng husband, Xin husband's brother, Ji mother-in-law, Jia father-in-law. A classic assigns year ancestral property; month parents, siblings, and household; day wife, concubines, and oneself; hour children. Inspect the positions of each relation's star and judge Flourishing, Vigorous, Rest, and Imprisonment. Parents at Long Life, Flourishing, Storehouse, Emolument, Horse, or Noble Person have riches, rank, blessing, longevity, and honor. Void, punishment, conquest, Killing, Death, Decline, and Defeat together give poverty, ruin, injury, short life, death abroad or bad end. Punishment, disruption, or harm even at Birth, Flourishing, or Storehouse gives long-lived but poor parents. Timely, commanding sibling stars at Long Life, Storehouse, Flourishing, Emolument, Horse, or Nobility give many wealthy, honored siblings. Punishment, conquest, Killing, Blade, Death, Extinction, Decline, or Defeat make them unhelpful. Even Long Life or flourishing Storehouse with punitive clashes gives siblings as enemies or without support. Wife/concubine stars at Birth, Flourishing, Storehouse, Emolument, Horse, or Nobility, or generated by something, give wealth, rank, beauty, and talent. Void, punishment, conquest, Killing, Sheep Blade, Death, Extinction, clash, or Defeat give poverty, unattractiveness, injury, short life, sexual disorder, disability, childbirth death, or no support. At Birth/Flourishing/Emolument/Horse but punished, clashed or conquered, a long-lived wife is nevertheless disfigured and poor. Child stars at Birth, Flourishing, Emolument, Horse, Nobility, Office, or Seal with generation give honored, intelligent children who often support old age. Emolument/Horse/Nobility at Death/Extinction gives refined, clever children who do not attend old age. Birth/Flourishing punished or disrupted gives dull, stubborn or disabled children still attending old age. Death/Extinction with punitive clashes, harm and Robbing gives no support, even present children disabled, disfigured, or untalented. A woman's Child at Birth/Flourishing gives many children; Emolument/Horse/Nobility gives wealthy, noble, blessed and long-lived children; Void, punishment, conquest, Killing, clash, Sheep Blade, Death/Extinction gives unhelpful children. Someone asks: Jia/Yi use Wu/Gui as parents, but without Gui and only Wu/Ren visible or hidden, which are parents? The answer cites taking exposed stems when available and seeking hidden ones otherwise. Wu alone remains Jia/Yi's father. Seek mother through father; if mother is absent take Ren as mother, still Wu as father. Wu and Ren cannot form a standard marriage pairing: rather than ordinary courtship, it must be marriage within mourning-related kin, a mother older than father, or remarriage after failed union. Another asks whether Yi in monthly/annual branches preceding Jia in the hour makes Yi elder. The answer ignores sequence: stronger is elder, weaker younger. People have parents above, wife/children below and siblings between; linkage and separation are assigned to fate. Discussing fate without Six Relations is one-sided. A rhapsody says: “Year Blade/Killing loses parents young; hour Blade/Hurting injures children late. Clash leaves no siblings, punishment injures Six Relations. Complete annual/monthly Office, Wealth and Seal enrich three ancestral generations; day/hour Killing, Blade and Owl lose wife and children midlife. Men's Hurting mostly injures children, women's husband; Hurting with Wealth has children, restrained Seven Killings many. Heavy Wealth punishes parents; flourishing Ghost gives descendants the printed roundabout honor. Repeated Robbing loses father early; excessive Seal-breaking mother first. Flourishing annual/monthly Wealth/Office honors grandfather and father; day/hour Emolument/Horse generating gives worthy, refined wife and children. Hidden Seal with commanding Wealth indicates secondary or illicit birth; flourishing Direct Wealth and untimely Body early maternal death. Repeated Indirect Office, Seal and Wealth means secondary birth; single Direct Office, Seal and Wealth a principal-line son. Monthly Robbing/Turning-Away cutting Wealth and Office ends father abroad; annual/monthly Turning-Away/Pursuing with clash/harm buries grandfather elsewhere. Daily Blade and hour Owl lose wife or concubine in childbirth; annual Killing and monthly Hurting make siblings difficult. Monthly Hurting often takes the elder; hour spirits leave no siblings. Repeated men's Robbing makes outside kin few; heavy women's Killing cuts close kin. Flourishing Seal obstructs children; heavy Wealth resents parents-in-law. Repeated year/month Killing with punishment/harm injures parents-in-law; day/hour Turning-Away/Pursuing without rescue separates wife and child. Repeated Direct/Indirect Wealth with combination makes many wives and concubines sexually excessive; Direct/Indirect Office with clash/harm means adultery despite husband. Husband strong and child injured means Food injured; child strong and husband injured means Office dead or Extinct. Women's flourishing Seal and light Office put husband's authority in her hand; men's much Wealth and weak Body delight in wife's words. Daily Hurting holding Blade gives husband a bad death; monthly Seal punished/clashed ruins maternal household. Strong Blade and hard Killing make ancestral graves poor; strong Office and flourishing Wealth descendants prosperous. Daily Turning Away from Emolument and Pursuing Horse often ruins inheritance and leaves home; hourly Flourishing Wealth Generating Office produces a son reviving household and assisting state. Monthly Killing/Blade gives father without mother. Repeated Indirect Office gives many daughters, few sons; repeated Indirect Wealth little love of principal wife and more of concubine. Wealth's source obtaining ground brings riches through a capable wife; Office arriving at its enclosure displays oneself, elevates ancestors' property and needs a prosperous son. Monthly Office/Seal with annual Hurting makes father superior and ancestors inferior; day Wealth with hour Robbing makes father rise, son fail. Repeated Equal/Robbing delays marriage; Office Star brings early childbirth. Men's Hurting with Yang Blade meeting Office/Killing must not be called heirless; women's Hurting with Owl/Seal in Wealth/Office fortune can also have children. Repeated Food in a damaged phrase with light Office makes husband decline and child flourish. Men's flourishing Killing with Equal/Robbing gives elder brother but no younger; excess or deficiency neither. A balanced Storehouse with like energy indicates a relation in an incomplete clause; flourishing Killing and defeated/Extinct Office give many daughters and declining sons. Wealth and Office flourishing Body has a damaged husband/household clause, husband's family rising and ancestral family failing. Too much women's Equal/Robbing suggests husband abandoning wife; men's victorious Wealth and heavy Robbing wife's private desire. Annual/monthly Seal generating inherits ready-made property; day/hour Complete Injury gains unrighteous unexpected Wealth. Annual Office means father/ancestor officials; monthly Office noble siblings. Men's Equal/Robbing must injure wife; women's Seal/Owl makes offspring difficult. Sheep Blade with Hurting and Seven Killings injures kin and friends; three harmonies and six combinations make friends throughout the world.” Another method gives men year as father, Conception as mother, month as siblings or officials' colleagues, day oneself/wives/concubines, hour descendants or officials' imperial seat of calamity and blessing. Zi, Wu, Mao, or You day indicates a wife of those birth branches; wives born Shen–Zi–Chen, Chou, or Jia/Ji do not last. A previously harmed first wife followed by a remarried woman falls outside this limit. What I conquer in four pillars is wife. Without it, No Wife Within Configuration: inspect birthday's place. Flourishing Wealth territory gives a capable wife; Noble Person/Emolument/Horse added, and the source's annual clause, a wife bringing rank into marriage. Wealth at natal/hour Death, Tomb, Extinction, or Defeat assures wife harm or lifelong widowerhood. Day Emolument encountered in hour, such as six-Bing with Guisi or six-Ren with Xinhai, is Reputation Killing: not only riches but office through wife. Day carrying year's Office or Seal gives wife seizing husband's authority, Emolument through her shelter, or marriage into power, as imperial or princely sons-in-law. Day seated on natal Wealth in its Birth/Flourishing territory gains wife's assets and a capable, understanding wife. Day seated on Noble Person gives a wife of distinguished family, or virtuous and beautiful. Natal day punishment, day clashing/breaking year, Sheep Blade, Robbery, Six Afflictions, Original Influence, or Void gives three or four marriages or no wife.
